Advanced Dry Eye Treatments using OptiLight and OptiLift
Dry eye disease can make everyday life uncomfortable—leaving your eyes feeling gritty, irritated, watery or fatigued. At Northside Eyecare, we go beyond temporary fixes with two advanced, non-invasive treatments OptiLight and OptiLift. Together, they target the root causes of dry eye rather than just masking the symptoms.
OptiLight
The majority of dry eye cases stem from meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), a condition where the glands that keep your tears from evaporating become blocked or inflamed. OptiLight is a light-based treatment that uses precise, intense broad spectrum light to address signs of dry eye disease due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD)—and it's the first and only IPL therapy FDA-approved specifically for dry eye management.
Treat My Dry Eye
OptiLight delivers gentle, controlled pulses of light to the skin just below the eyes. This helps calm the inflammation driving your symptoms, improve how well your meibomian glands function and reduce the population of demodex mites that can worsen the condition. The treatment is applied to the skin below the eyes and is non-invasive—your provider protects your eyes with shields and applies a cooling gel, and most patients feel only a mild, warm sensation. A course of treatment typically includes 4 sessions spaced 2–4 weeks apart, and each session takes only around 15 minutes, so you can return to your day right away.

OptiLift
OptiLift complements OptiLight by addressing a different piece of the puzzle: the muscles and mechanics around your eyes. OptiLift uses Dynamic Muscle Stimulation technology to restore muscle tone, resulting in improved function of the lower eyelid and blinking quality. Since a healthy, complete blink is essential for spreading your tears and keeping your eyes lubricated, improving blink quality can make a meaningful difference for chronic dry eye. This quick in-office treatment takes only about 7 minutes per side.
Find Lasting Relief
Because dry eye is often driven by more than one factor, combining OptiLight and OptiLift can be especially effective at breaking the cycle of inflammation and discomfort. Our team will evaluate your symptoms, determine whether you're a good candidate and build a treatment plan suited to your needs.
If dry eye is affecting your comfort or quality of life, contact Northside Eyecare today to schedule an evaluation and find out whether OptiLight and OptiLift are right for you.
